Kanchanjunga - Nepal
Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world and the second highest in Nepal, located in the Taplejung district straddling the frontier between Nepal and India. Kanchenjunga means "Five Treasures of the Snow", as it contains five peaks, four of them over 8,450 metres. Until 1852, Kanchenjunga was assumed to be the highest mountain in the world, but calculations made by the British 1849 Great Trigonometric Survey showed Mount Everest to be the highest and Kanchenjunga the third-highest. The five peaks of Kanchenjunga are as follows:

Everest was formed about 60 million years ago.
2.Elevation:
29,035 (8850m)-found to be 6\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' higher in 1999.
3.Name in Nepal:
Sagarmatha (means: goddess of the sky).
4.In Tibet:
Chomolungma: (means: mother goddess of the universe).
