This Oct/Nov, we have a nice team for Mt Baruntse expedition, expedition title by Friendship Mt Baruntse expedition autumn 2008 which supposed to start from 8th Oct but expedition was delayed by 2 days. On 8th Oct all flight to lukla has cancelled because a yeti airlines flight twin Otter (9N-AFE) crashed neat at lukla air field, on the next day again our flight has cancelled because of bad weather in Lukla airport.
Any way our team has made a good flight to lukla on 10th Oct and now trekking towards to Mera Peak, today they reached to Khera (5025m) safely and every one is fit & fine. Our expedition plan is first attempt to Mera Peak (a highest trekking peak 6654m) as acclimatization trip and straight head to Mt Baruntse base camp and start necessary preparation and climbing.
We have 2 Danish, 2 Russian, 1 Italian and 3 British clients plus four climbing sherpas on this trip. Mr Lakpa Rangdu sherpa, a sherpa reached to the summit of Mt Everest 4 times using both North & South ridge is the climbing guide of this expedition.
